Convertible. Hot vermillion. Top down courting car.
My Medusa hair, your fuel-injected
fingers on the back of my neck.
Now parked in our garage
her tender top moans
under a seventeen foot canoe.
She hasn't moved for a decade.
Her chassis surrounded by suburban
bewilderment like a woman in an Updike novel.
Tailpipe choked by Christmas stuff
nobody's revved her three-oh-two
cubic foot for years.
Her pert trunk balances
boxes of baby sweaters I can't part with.
She's not the only one looking for the road.
